Two points that caught my attention from the article "How to carve out life's passion" by John C. Maxwell, would be: Pay the price and define success for yourself. On the road to success there are certain things you may have to overcome or some hardships along the way but that's all part of paying the price. If you are passionate about what you are pursuing then the "price" should be worth it. Also you must define success for yourself in order to be successful, this ties into another section of the article that talks about ways to fire up your passion. Some questions asked are "What hobbies have you pursued over the years and why? These may be clues that will tell you something about yourself." and "What would you never give up because you love it so much?" these answers may be the key to defining your own success.
